 Read the following passage, then answer the questions

We arrived in Nairobi yesterday and we've already seen lots of animals. We even saw a zebra by the side of the road as we drove from the airport! Thismorning, we left Nairobi and drove to the Masai Mara Park. We are staying at the edge of the park near a river. It's a very beautiful place with lots of trees and flowers. It's dark now and I can hear lions and other animals outside. It's really exciting. I'm looking forward to driving through the park tomorrow to see all the animals. We are going to drive to the Mara River.

At this time of year, it is very hot here and the grass is dry. You can see zebras swim across the river and go south where the grass is greener. There are a lot of lions in the park, so I expect we will see some tomorrow. And I hope we'll see crocodiles when we're at the river. We are staying here for three nights, and then we're going to Mount Kenya. I'll be back home next week.

Many animals  have adopted to life in extreme heat and cold. Think of the extremes in Egypt. There are burning desert and there are the high.

mountains of Sinai, which are sometimes covered with snow Now of the North Pole with its enormous glaciers and freezing water,  of the rainforests of South America and Asia, with their heavy rain. Incredibly, these environments are home to many types of wildlife.

One of the animals best adapted to heal is Egypt's sand cat. It is not much bigger than city eats, but it is designed for desert life, with thick fur on its feet to protect it from the heat. Sand cats are not often seen because i hey sleep underground during the day and only come out to hunt at night. Like many other desert animals, they do not have to find water, as they get all the moisture they need from their prey, which include rats and mice.

   At the other extreme, polar bears live on the ice around the North Pole. They are between 2.5 and 4.5 metres long and more than 450 kilograms in weight. Their white fur and thick skin protect them from the extreme cold. They live on fish, which they catch through holes in the ice They have an incredible sense of smell and can smell their prey as far. as 16 kilometres away. They can run faster than 50 kilometres an hour

Orangutan"

Orangutans live in the rainforests of Borneo where it's very hot and

wet.   "Orangutan" means wild man of the forest. Orangutans are quiet, rather lazy animals. They sleep all night in nests made from branches. They feed on fruits and insects in the morning.

They don't like water. They hold leaves over their heads to protect themselves in case of rain.
